DESCRIPTION

Benalla Rural City Council used an environmentally friendly material, one that utilised waste wood and recycled plastic, in the boardwalk upgrade at Lake Benalla near the art gallery. This project was funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. APR Rotomoulded post covers where also used to cover splitting timber posts.

PROJECT FACTS

20000 kg of reclaimed non-treated timber consumed
20000 kg of recycled plastic consumed
= 520,000 x 2 litre plastic milk bottles
= 1400 cubic metres of plastic diverted from landfill
